What should you check before booking a villa at Solterra Resort, Davenport?
How far is Solterra Resort from the Orlando theme parks?

Solterra's tucked in the ChampionsGate corner of Davenport. Disney's the easy one from here, roughly 11 miles, 20 to 25 minutes. Everything else is more of a drive.
- All four Disney parks land inside that 20 to 25 minute window.
- On a park-opening morning, US-192 and FL-429 crawl, so set off early when it counts.
- Universal's the long one, 30 to 40 minutes up I-4. SeaWorld's nearer, 25 to 30.
- MCO is about 35 to 45 minutes back on FL-417.
- No shuttle runs from the resort, so a hire car does every park run.
Do Solterra Resort villas have a home theatre?

Some of the larger Solterra villas come with their own home cinema, a proper screening room set apart from the games room and the main living space.
- Not every villa has one. It tends to be the bigger homes, so say so when you enquire.
- And it's a real room, projector or big screen, not a TV stuck in the corner of the lounge.
- Rainy days and movie nights are where it earns its keep, especially when the group isn't at the parks.
- Most villas with a cinema have a games room as well, so say if you want both.
- Tell us it matters at enquiry and we'll only show you those vacation rentals in Orlando that have one.
Is the Solterra Resort pool free with villa hire?

Solterra Club and its pool complex come with every villa booking, though there's a small resort fee to know about up front.
- In the price: lazy river, water slide, the resort pool, a playground, the gym and the sports courts.
- The one thing to expect is a resort fee, about $35 plus tax for the stay, settled at the clubhouse on arrival.
- You'll get wristbands at check-in, so confirm your guest count when you book.
- Café Sol, the tiki bar and cabana hire are the bits you pay for on the day.
- Hours move around by season, so check the current pool and slide times when you book.
- Your private villa pool is a separate thing from all this, and it comes with every home.
Does Solterra Resort have pool cabanas?

Yes, you can hire a cabana at the Solterra Club pool. It's a paid extra rather than part of the standard resort access.
- It's a shaded, private spot right at the pool, with the exact setup confirmed when you book.
- It isn't in the villa rate or the standard access, so it's an add-on.
- They go fast over the school holidays, so it's worth arranging before you arrive.
- Café Sol and the tiki bar are right there, so you don't have to leave the pool for food and drinks.
- Flag it at enquiry and we'll check what's free and what it costs for your dates.
Does Solterra Resort have a restaurant?

Solterra's food and drink runs through Café Sol, the poolside café and bar at the clubhouse, with a full menu rather than just snacks.
- Café Sol looks out over the pool and keeps going all day, food and drinks both.
- It's the stuff everyone actually eats: salads, sandwiches, pizza, tacos, burgers.
- Kids get their own menu as well, a main, fries or fruit, and a drink.
- The tiki bar handles poolside drinks separately, with no booking needed.
- None of it's in the villa rate, so you pay as you go.
- If you'd rather self-cater, we can have a grocery shop delivered to the resort.

What size villas does Solterra Resort have?

Range is Solterra's thing. It runs from 5-bed family homes right up to 14-bed group villas, wider than the other resorts round here, though most people book somewhere between 6 and 10.
- A 5-bed handles a family of 8 to 10, with its own pool and open-plan downstairs.
- The 6 to 8-beds are the bread and butter, 12 to 16 guests, usually with a games room thrown in.
- A 9 or 10-bed takes 18 to 20, with several suites, a cinema room and a bigger pool deck.
- The 11 to 14-beds are the largest in the range, built for parties of 22 to 30-plus.
- The layout is usually two storeys, with a private screened pool and an open-plan ground floor.
- The 12 to 14-beds go early, so enquire ahead for summer and Christmas.
If none of those quite fit, we also list villas at other Orlando resorts.
Do Solterra Resort villas have a heated pool?

There are two pools in play at Solterra. Every villa has its own screened one, and there's the big resort pool at the club, heated through the cooler months.
- Your villa pool is fully private and screened, nothing to do with the club pool.
- It comes unheated as standard, so heating is an add-on if you want it.
- We'll give you the heating cost for your specific villa while we shortlist.
- The resort pool at Solterra Club is heated from December to April, at no extra charge.
- June to September, the sun keeps the water warm anyway, so most summer guests skip the heating.
- The screened lanai holds a bit of the warmth overnight, which helps if you've paid to heat it.
Do Solterra Resort villas have a hot tub?

A private hot tub on the pool deck comes with some Solterra villas, sitting next to your own pool rather than as a shared facility at the club.
- It's only on a certain set of villas, not across the board.
- Where there is one, it's on your own screened deck, beside the private pool.
- Solterra Club doesn't have a shared one, so a hot tub here means it's in your villa.
- You'll use it most October to March, once the evenings cool off.
- And most hot-tub homes can heat the pool as well, if you want the lot warm.
- Say so at enquiry and we'll shortlist the hot-tub and spa homes.
Do Solterra Resort villas have a games room?

A private games room is pretty standard at Solterra, across the mid-size and larger villas, and a lot of the bigger homes add a separate cinema room on top.
- Most villas have one, with a pool table, a big screen and a few table games.
- The larger homes often throw in arcade machines or table tennis as well.
- They're more common from 6 bedrooms up, and rarer in the 5-beds.
- These are built-for-purpose rooms, not a converted garage, and it shows.
- Many games-room villas also have a home cinema, so flag it if you need both.
- Tell us the spec you're after at enquiry and we'll match it.
Is Solterra Resort good for large groups?

This is where Solterra really stands out. The villas go all the way to 14 bedrooms, so a group of 20, 30 or more can stay under one roof, with the club and the gates keeping everything in one place.
- The 14-bed villas take the biggest parties, sleeping up to 30-plus, so most reunions fit in one home.
- Need even more room? We can put you in two villas close together.
- Solterra Club gives everyone a shared base, so you're not driving out for every meal.
- For a group dinner in, the 5 Star Villa Holidays team can line up a private chef.
- And between the lazy river, the pool and the courts, nobody's short of something to do.
- The 12 to 14-beds go months ahead for summer and Christmas, so move early to pin your dates.
For a party too big even for Solterra's largest, our biggest Orlando mansion rentals go higher still.
Are Solterra Resort villas pet friendly?

Solterra is a no-pets resort for almost every villa, and that's set by the HOA and the management companies rather than the individual owners. Travelling with a dog? You'll do better outside the gated resorts.
- It's the HOA that bars pets across the whole community, so no single owner can just wave you through.
- A handful might take a small dog, but only ever confirmed in writing at booking.
- Where it's allowed, expect a non-refundable pet fee, plus breed and weight limits from the management company.
- Tell us right at the first enquiry, so we can be straight with you before we shortlist.
- And remember the heat, the gated access and the pool screen doors make a dog more of a job here than on a UK trip.
If it's a must, our non-gated Orlando homes to rent handle pets case by case.
Is Solterra Resort good for young children?

Solterra is a manageable one with little kids. The gates, the club and the way the villas are kitted out take a lot of the daily juggling out of a trip.
- The HOA-managed gates keep through-traffic out, so children can move around more freely.
- Themed bedrooms, princess, superhero and character rooms, come with most family villas and go down well with the 3 to 10s.
- Cots, high chairs and travel cots can be requested, so confirm them at booking.
- Florida hire cars rarely include car seats, so arrange those before you fly if you've got little ones.
- If you need it, the nearest paediatric care is AdventHealth Celebration, about 15 minutes off.
